4 months old pup surrendered to kill shelter, is just too sad to lift up his head anymore

The Miami-Dade Animal Services(MDAS), a shelter that is known for its notoriously high kill rate, is not the place where hope and love abound to say and write the least. The desperate dogs and cats trapped in the facility are given weeks, and sometimes just days to find forever homes, before they are “humanely euthanized,” as the MDAS like to put it, to “free up” valuable kennel space.

For an 4 months old pup named Teddy, life at the MDAS is his new reality. The charming pup, who was surrendered to the MDAS by a good Samaritan, has been languishing at the shelter, waiting for someone to take a chance on him. Teddy, who is said to be suffering from dehydration, and malnourishment, has unfortunately been overlooked by shelter patrons who view the elderly, and sickly pup as too “fragile,” to be taken home.

I am an unaltered male, black Terrier mix. The shelter staff think I am about 4 months old

Teddy, who is a normally upbeat, jovial pup who greets patrons to his kennel space with excitement, is just too sad to lift up his head anymore. Sadly, because there have been no takers, the MDAS has formally placed him on death row, and that means he could be euthanized within the next week or so if he can not find a home in time. Sad indeed.

Please, if you or someone you know is interested in giving Teddy the forever family he rightfully deserves, please contact the MDAS at 305.884.1101 and reference the shelter ID #A1880251.
