At the Carson Animal Shelter, in Gardena, California, very few animals who enter, have a support system as great as Treena, and Tyra. Treena, the older of the two is a 5-year-old German shepherd, who is protective of the 2-year-old Tyra, who is also of the same breed. Both dogs are related to one another, and shelter staff might think they are a mother and daughter duo.
Treena barely leaves Tyra’s side, and the two can often be seen huddled together in their cages. When it’s game time and shelter patrons enter the facility, Treena is the one emotionally propping up Tyra so they can put on their best face, hoping to get the second chance they so desperately need at this moment. Unfortunate for both, that opportunity hasn’t come as of yet, and according to my source, both have been placed on the “euth list,” which is parlance at Carson for “death row.”
That means if they can’t find homes within the coming weeks, the unthinkable might happen: euthanasia.
A Petharbor listing for Treena reads,
“My name is TREENA I’m an approximately 5 -year-old female German Shepherd. I am not yet spayed. Please help me.”
A Pet harbor listing for Tyra reads,
”My name is TYRA I’m an approximately 2-year-old female German Shepherd. I am not yet spayed. Please help me.“
