Heartbroken Pup Surrendered To Kill Shelter, Can Only Cry After Being Placed on “Death Row”

While most of us are off planning festivities for Friday evening deciding whether or not to head into town, or “make it a Netflix night,” a dog named Elliot is contemplating a much darker future. Elliot is a temporary resident at the notorious high-kill Carson Animal Services in Gardena, California, and he was just given some devastating news. The 1-year-old pit bull terrier was formally placed on “death row,” and so he has just days to live before the unthinkable might happen: euthanasia.

Life wasn’t always so glib for Elliot. Before his life lay dangerously in the balance, the charming, charismatic pup who staff at Carson say has become a favorite, was living well by all accounts. One day, his owner could no longer care for him for some undisclosed reason and surrendered the confused and bewildered pup to Carson three days before Christmas. Some present.

Elliot didn’t let his new environment dampen his soul one bit in the beginning. The charismatic pup was the first to greet shelter patrons and perform his little twirl trick on his hind legs to get attention.

However, as weeks turned into months, the jovial pup, who could charm the socks off of anyone, has given up all hope because no one wants to take a chance on him. Today, after almost two months in the shelter, a remarkable feat a remarkable feat of survival in any kill shelter, Elliot’s time has run out.

A Petharbor listing for Elliot reads,

“My name is Elliot and I am described as a neutered male, white and brown Pit Bull Terrier. The shelter thinks I am about 1 year and 2 months old. I have been at the shelter since Dec 22, 2016. Please give me a chance. My time is running out.”

SpeakUp, let’s change the course of history for Elliot and give him the life he deserves. If you or someone you know is interested in giving him a forever family, please contact the Los Angeles County Animal Control – Carson at (310) 523-9566 and reference the shelter ID #A5020948.

Additionally, please share this story on Facebook or Twitter so we are closer to finding Elliot a home. We have done this many times together, and can certainly do it again. 💕❤
